The Investment Piece: A Feather Frock.

12 Apr

This trend has successfully stood the test of time. You can wear a feather frock with tights in winter and spring or bare legged in the summer. They’ll never go out of style and I say dare to wear. Feather dresses are very chic; just make sure they’re not 100% feathered or yellow so you don’t look like a creepier human version of Big Bird. Here’s some stunners I found that can easily be worn at your next cocktail party…

Flapper-esque and Timelessly Chic:

Colored skinny belt it, baby:

Whistles Evangeline Feather Dress $350

Karl’s Take on the feather dress, paired perfectly with Silver Pumps:

Feathering it Casual – Skirt Style:

Grey Transcends the Seasons:

Dress by Sue Wong $354

Pastel for Spring (two consistent trends, one dress):

Dress by Sue Wong $342

All Black or All White. A color to match your soul. I like. (Black Swan, anyone?) I kid, I kid. Choose wisely:

via Well Worn $295

via Well Worn $350

These feathered stunners are definitely investment pieces, but worth it. They don’t run cheap and they’re not something one could wear on the reg. But when you need a show stopping frock for your next party, and the Holiday function in months to come, you’ll be ready. Be brave and give feathers a try.

Places to Buy: Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, Neiman Marcus,,, Bloomingdale’s,

*Note: Keep this look simple. Don’t over accessorize because you’ll end up looking like a show girl on stage in Vegas. Hopefully not what you were going for. But in the event that it was, carry on my petite parrot. And fly away. Far far away.
